McLEOD DUAL DISC STREET CLUTCH
CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL APPLICATION
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Open box, inspect clutch for shipping damage.
2. Identify 3 distinctive ink marks before disassembling clutch:

Pressure Plate
Center Plate
Flywheel
3. Disassemble clutch assembly
a. Remove pressure plate
b. Reinstall nuts finger tight to prevent 6 large spacers from being lost
c. Remove top disc
d. Remove 3 bolts holding center plate

NOTE:
SHIM PACK includes 1 large shim and 1-3 small shims (each clutch varies
slightly) and 1 bolt

washer – DO NOT lose shims.
e. Remove bottom disc

4. Install flywheel on engine. Torque bolts to 101 ft lb, use blue Loctite 242.

5. Install bottom disc, insure flywheel side is toward engine. (you will find sticker indicating “Flywheel Side.”)

6. Install 1 bolt though center plate, install proper shim pack on bottom of bolt, align ink marks. Install remaining bolts and shim packs. Torque bolts to 25 ft lbs. Use blue Loctite 242.


7. Install top disc on alignment tool w/long portion of hub facing flywheel. (The center convex is the same as the bottom disc.)

8. Align top disc splines w/bottom disc splines. Install pressure plate. Line up ink marks with center plate and flywheel. Torque nuts to 30 ft lbs, use blue Loctite 242.

9. Remove alignment tool.
HO ENGINES ONLY
(“ETH” INDICATOR)
These transmissions have 1 3/8”x 10 spline shaft. It will be necessary to remove this starter spacer and 3 bolts. It is imperative that you use the 3 shorter bolts provided. If this spacer is not removed, starter will not reach ring on new flywheel.
