Corsa Data Acquisition System |
|
The Corsa system also helps you tune your engine for maximum performance and reliability. Most teams start by looking at exhaust gas temperature (EGT) for each cylinder, all through the pull. You can see if the engine is running too rich or too lean, and you can see how it changes during the pull. You can also see which cylinders are running hotter than others, and balance them out with fuel or water injection changes. This improves reliability by lowering temperatures in cylinders that were too hot, and improves power by getting each cylinder to work as efficiently as possible.
Knowing turbo inlet
temperature and pressure, and compressor outlet temperature and pressure, is
the key to getting a turbocharger setup optimized. Depending on how complex
their setup is and how much tuning they are doing, teams run anything from
one pressure sensor to ten or more pressures and temperatures. A complete Corsa system for pulling starts with the CS1 main box, 6 or 8 EGT probes, engine RPM sensor, and software, cables, and other parts to make a complete ready-to-run system. From there, each team adds different pressure and temperature sensors to suit their needs. The CS1 box can handle up to 20 temperature and pressure sensors. |
