AUXILIARY WATER INJECTION SYSTEM

(SAFETY SYSTEM)

THIS SYSTEM CAN BE ADDED TO EITHER OF THE 2 WATER INJECTION SYSTEMS SHOWN ABOVE.  WE RUN THIS ON BOTH "ROCK HARD RAM" AND "OFF CONSTANTLY."

 

WE ARE proud to offer an Auxiliary Water Injection System to the pulling industry.  This system was designed to work in conjunction with existing water injection setups to provide added flexibility and engine protection.  By adding 2 additional water injection nozzles which are controlled by solenoid valves, to existing systems, WE ARE able to control exhaust temperatures better, regardless of track conditions. 

This system uses an independent temperature sensor to control the solenoid valves.  The integrated controller measures the temperature from the sensor and when the solenoid setpoint is reached, it energizes the solenoid to provide water to the nozzle.  Then, if the temperature drops below the setpoint, the solenoid will de-energize, which in turn shuts off the water to the nozzle.  Each valve has its own temperature setpoint, which is easily adjustable.  The solenoid setpoints can be staged to provide the maximum flexibility.  Ideally the first setpoint is set at the expected exhaust temperature and the second setpoint is set higher to provide additional engine protection.  The solenoids will then energize/de-energize during the run to help maintain a flat temperature profile during the run.  The trend below demonstrates the impact this system has on the exhaust temperatures.  The bottom part of the trend shows when the solenoids are energized.  This system helps to take the guesswork out of setting up water injection systems for track conditions.  If the track is loose and the engine RPMs run a little higher, temperatures usually raise as well.  This system will work with the existing system to keep the temperatures down. 

 

 

The box (seen below) measures 6.7" x 5.5" x 3.7".  The solenoids easily mount under the hood where the existing water injection lines are located.  Cabling is provided to connect the box to the solenoids and a power cable is provided to connect to the 12V battery source.  The thermocouple is also provided.  The system is provided with a light box for indicating when the solenoids have energized, but the system can be connected to data acquisition systems for better post run diagnosis.
